Energy efficiency is the cornerstone for building a secure and sustainable energy system

Given that buildings consume about 40% of the total energy consumption, energy efficiency in buildings would be of paramount importance to reduce carbon emissions worldwide in the next two decades.

Energy Efficiency 2018, a recent report issue by the International Energy Agency (IEA), outlines a global strategy focused on what governments can do to capture the economic, social and environmental benefits of enhanced energy efficiency.

In this report, the IEA has identified the key actions that can deliver the most positive impact. This includes improving the efficiency of buildings and industry.
